WHO WE ARE . . .
Julie Eshelman-Lee
is a historian specializing in Louisiana and Pointe Coupée Parish history. As a historian, Julie walks the journey of her ancestors who were founding families of both Louisiana and Pointe Coupée. It is their story she liberates through meticulous research to retrace the footprints of the past – a story better than fiction.
As founder and Director of Creole West Productions Julie develops, authors, and produces projects that integrate innovative technology into education and entertainment products, bringing history alive for all generations and audiences.
After authoring and directing historical presentations, and publishing her documented historical narratives about this little-known piece of American history, immediately the need to bring Louisiana history alive to a broad audience became apparent. Integrating innovative multimedia technology into documented historical content was the comprehensive solution. The end result liberates the history for further understanding of the footprints of the past.
Julie is historian, author, developer and project director for all Creole West Productions' projects, and acts as consultant for other innovative educational and entertainment ventures relative to Louisiana history. She designed and developed a model interactive local history website to benefit both middle-school aged Louisiana history students and users of all ages and locations. This website is poised as a model for future similar historical and cultural websites in Louisiana and beyond, and can be easily customized.
A graduate of Ohio University at Athens with a B.B.A., Julie blends two decades of invaluable business expertise, her lifelong passion of education and history, and expertise as an independent historian to make this vision a reality. Her membership in a cross-section of historical, cultural, academic and educational organizations offers an extraordinary network and resource for the various projects of Creole West Productions.
